Vasilis Sormas: Yin Yoga – all levels

Yin yoga is a gentle and meditative practice that invites the attention to shift from mind to the felt experience. In this class yin yoga is combined with meditative Self inquiry. Self inquiry invites you to explore into the truth of what you are, not what you believe yourself to be. By doing so the layers of limiting assumptions and convictions about yourself and the world start to fall away. When this happens a great space of peace is revealed. This space of peace is what we timelessly are.
Holding each posture for a few minutes gives us the opportunity to turn the attention inwards and investigate what is truthful. By genuinely observing what is taking place from moment to moment we start to distinguish the difference between the raw sensation and the interpretation of the mind.
Vasilis: “I came in contact with yoga in 2012, during my studies as a Chemical Engineer, as a means of recovery from an injury. That was the first step in the fascinating journey of self awareness, that a few years later, brought me to India to experience a glimpse of its greater meaning. During my practice in the various schools of yoga I realized that the body is a tool that you can use to get to the mind, with the use of asana, pranayama and meditation, which came to be the basic core of my teachings.
In my classes, the emphasis is on arriving to the present moment and listen to what the body has to say in order to reach a balanced state of mind”.
